Just a quote i found in the president’s message to the University that i think needs to be problematized (even coming from an Egyptian):

“YORK’S MISSION STATEMENT EMPHASIZES OUR MULTICULTURAL NATURE, AND THE VALUE WE PLACE ON TOLERANCE AND DIVERSITY” (capital letters my emphasis).

ESPECIALLY in multi-cultural-look-how-far-we’ve-come Canada. One step forward, two steps back.

Many still fail to realize that racist individuals are not born, but are produced and nurtured by institutions in society.
